SANTA FE

NATIONAL FOREST

OODLES AND OODLES OF FOREST ON THE EDGE OF THE DESERT

The Santa Fe National Forest is a protected national forest in northern New Mexico, and covers 1,558,452 acres. From our home in Santa Fe it takes about 45 to get to some of our favorite off-the-grid spots along Forest Rd 102. Solitude, a chorus of bird songs, amazingly clear night skies, and tons of trails to explore, -this is our happy place.

We also suggest picking out a long trail to explore, load up the backpacks and dogs, and get lost along the way to Nambe Lake or any other mountain peak or lake.

Just don't forget to check the current fire restrictions and make a plan in case you run into trouble.

The best quick camp spots are off of Forest Rd. 102, right off of the ski area. We marked a few of our favorites.

To see the camp spots saved on the map, click the map then use the + and - buttons on your keyboard to zoom in and out.

We have attached pictures to the campsite locations for reference.

Enjoy!
